After the chic rating plug-in for Google Chrome was implemented elsewhere, our neighbour France started a beta version of Google Shopping at google.fr on 21. 10. 2010. With this, Google takes the next logical step in its development and transfers the Google shopping portal to other European countries. It is quite obvious that France is not going to be the last country to do so.
The new requirements have remained the same within the basic thematic blocks, e. g., the prohibition of market places, affiliates or price comparison. To be listed in French-Shopping a shop provider needs to adhere to the following specifications:
Google Product Search France:
- product entries must be in French
- product prices must be listed in Euro
- products must be deliverable in all of FranceThe official declaration can be read here.
In addition to its introduction to France Google treats the French homepage to an individual “look and feel”.
Is someone already testing the design for its own future online shop? By changing the homepage Google has clearly opened room for speculation. We leave any interpretation to you and are really curious!
